Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) Tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/3 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. Add flour, salt, and baking powder into stand mixer fitted with the dough hook. Stir to combine.
  2. Add butter and water and mix until combined into a dough. Allow the mixer to knead the dough for about 5 minutes. Add more flour or water as needed so that the dough does not stick to the sides of the bowl.
  3. Place the dough onto a work surface and split into 20 balls of dough. Cover the balls with plastic wrap and allow to rest for 30 minutes to an hour.
  4. Heat a pan over medium-high heat until the pan is very hot.
  5. Use a rolling pin to roll a ball of dough into a flat disc, around 6 inches in diameter. Place the tortilla on the pan on cook until you noticed bubbles rising on the surface of the dough and it begins to brown. Flip and repeat on the other side. It should only take 10-20 seconds to cook each tortilla. Repeat with the other balls of dough.
